In April we had the pleasure of hosting a breathtaking shoot here at Millbridge Court which was featured in You & Your Wedding Magazine’s September Issue. The visionary and stylist behind the photoshoot was Michelle Pierre-Carr and the talented Millbridge Court Partner Eddie Judd was the chosen photographer.

Michelle’s inspiration for the shoot was Pantone’s colour of 2015, Tangerine, and she set out to bring together an orange grove of colours and shades with greenery and scents aplenty. The focus of the shoot became the gorgeous fruit chandeliers hanging over the banquet table which was situated at the end of our Dining Barn, and featured beautiful vintage touches of cream and gold. Old world romance was combined with bringing the natural beauty of the outdoors inside, a concept that is behind the very design of Millbridge Court.

I was just a little bit excited when I was sent the link to the professional images of this utterly gorgeous August Wedding Day. Emma, the Bride, asked if I would like to be sent any to keep. She probably expected me to send back to her a list of a few but I in fact asked for 55 (sorry, Emma) and to whittle it down to that many was somewhat of a struggle.

Emma and Daniel got married at Millbridge Court in August on the most spectacular Summers Day and picked a plethora of talented suppliers to bring to life their dream Wedding. Millbridge Court Partner Hannah Berry was their chosen florist, creating breathtaking arrangements throughout the Barns and in our Arbor Garden. Think milk churns, hanging floral jars, wild flowers… just gorgeous. Nicola Milns was the photographer capturing every detail so beautifully and we absolutely adore all of the shots that she took of Emma and Daniel around the Millbridge Court grounds.

Just before you get to the images, below are some wonderful words from Daniel, the Groom, about their day and the reasons for choosing Millbridge Court as their Wedding Venue.

 

“Millbridge Court was the first venue that we found that had everything. Perfect location, setting and ambience with it catering for every single aspect of a wedding. Every detail has been considered and well thought out. The outside area is a complete showstopper. As the groom, my favourite moment was walking to the Arbor with my guests and just hearing each one being in awe of the setting. It was beautiful. This venue has it all and the choice was a no brainer for us. It blew every other venue away.

The outside, rustic countryside nature of the venue is magical. You feel like you’re in a different world. It’s incredibly intimate and welcoming without being over the top.

We had so much confidence in the team that they knew how to put on a wedding and we were not left disappointed. So many of our guests have recommended the venue to friends. So much of their hard work and effort was truly appreciated by us and our guests. I may be biased but I am confident that it will be a long time before I go to a better wedding venue than Millbridge Court.”

 

 

Last Summer we received a rather exciting email from Emma at Coco Wedding Venues introducing us to her good friend and colleague, Katrina Otter who is a key member of the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners and in charge of planning their 2015 Wedding planning Excellence Seminar. Following a site visit from Kat and Andri Benson (Always Andri) and a morning chatting through menu ideas and plans we just could not wait to host such an exciting few days and welcome some of the most talented Wedding Planners in the UK to Millbridge Court.

Wedding Planning Excellence (WPE) offers the opportunity for Wedding Planners to increase their knowledge, gain ideas to grow their planning business and to mix and learn from like-minded planners. WPE had the most incredible array of speakers over the course of the two days, ranging from Polly Alexandre, a success and lifestyle coach, to Fiona Humberstone, the best-selling author of ‘How to Style Your Brand’.

Thank you, Kat, for having Millbridge Court as the host for such a wonderful event, it was a complete and utter privilege to be joined by such phenomenal industry professionals. Thank you to Hannah Duffy for capturing the Seminar so beautifully over the two days and to MBC Partner for always dressing Millbridge Court to perfection.

On Wednesday Evening we hosted another of our spectacular Tasting Evenings with our award winning catering team, Kalm Kitchen. Joining us for the occasion was the fabulous Tristan Mackay, an acoustic guitarist and singer who serenaded our couples throughout their drinks reception and meal. We met Tristan at one of our September Weddings and were blown  away with his musical talents and loved his kind and personable nature. He has since been added on to ‘Our Partners’ page and we look forward to working with him this year and beyond.

We also had MBC Partner, Jay Archer as the chosen florist for the evening. She created the most spectacular tablescape on long banquet tables in our Dining Barn and a beautiful cascading floral arrangement for our Patisserie Boutique. Working with this immensely talented lady is always so exciting, as we know that she’s always thinking outside the box and coming up with new and exciting ways to dress our Barns. Jay went above and beyond decorating our shelves, bringing in gorgeous, ornate framed pictures from her home and placing them on each shelf alongside candles and other decorative items. It’s no wonder so many of our couples are choosing to have Jay as their florist for their Big Day at Millbridge Court and we can’t wait to see what she creates next.

Our couples were greeted in our lounges where they were offered the opportunity to try our Prosecco, Cava, Champagne and two Cocktails, one of which is our talented Bar Managers own creation ‘Little Sicily’, as well as an array of delicious canapes. They then moved through to our Dining Barn where a sharing charcuterie board awaited them, our couples were then served four beautiful plated starters, each illustrating the array of menu options on offer. Our immensely popular Carve At The Table menu option was also on offer to try on Wednesday evening alongside a few of our delicately plated new main course options. Dessert was presented as beautifully as ever on our Patisserie Boutique so that guests could get a feel for the exquisite presentation and the concept of such a wonderfully informal and visually breath-taking dessert service.

To our MBC couples that attended, it was so lovely to see you all & we have so enjoyed receiving your fabulous feedback. We look forward to hearing which delicious options you have opted for for your Wedding Day.
